City of Detroit

The CITY OF DETROIT was a 166 foot steamer built in 1866 and lost in a storm on December 4, 1873. The wreck is at a depth of 180 feet of water in Saginaw Bay. Unfortunately no one made it and all 20 people aboard died. The CITY OF DETROIT's loss is the worst disaster within the limits of Saginaw Bay Michigan.
