S.S. Clifton Whaleback

The S.S. Clifton was a Whaleback freighter that sank in 1924. This ship was over 300ft long and converted into a self unloader to quickly offload at its destinations. It was carrying stone aggregate at the time of its sinking. She was lost in a storm with all hands becoming another "ghost ship" of the Great Lakes and it wasn't seen again until 2016. Dave Trotter and team discovered the wreck 92 years later! It took him 30 years to locate the last undiscovered Whaleback and it was pretty far offshore. I admire this persistence and determination to keep looking and keep searching to finally know what happened to these ships and crew. If it wasn't for people like him searching the lakes i'd never be able to take these images. These guys are true explorers and i admire all they've done! Enjoy the pics.
