Whitefish Point : Lake Superior

This area is known as the Shipwreck Coast. Many wrecks in this part of lower Lake Superior have been lost due to collisions, fire, and fierce storms. There are beautiful examples of wooden steamships from the 1800's and many artifacts found on the ships. There are a lot of details that can be observed due to the lack of mussels in Lake Superior. This makes this Great Lake pretty special. These are image of the Wooden Steamers Osborn , Samuel Mather, and S.S. Vienna and the Comet.
